Advantages & Disadvantages of Collecting Anime Figures

Yes there are pros as well as pros to purchasing anime characters.

Of course, none of the anime companies ever thought about telling you this (if they are selling anime characters).

They’d think it’s not logical.

Or does it?

Every business and product has pros and pros and. It doesn’t matter what anyone is to convince (or trying to sell) you.

Anyone who says that you are not is sabotaging you.

With this in mind Here’s a list of pros and cons to take into consideration. Particularly, if you’re at the beginning stages of purchasing and collecting anime characters.

1. They’re built to last decades to come.

This is particularly true for PVC Statues. They’re of top quality.

However, anime characters in general are constructed to last, just from an ornament.

So long as you’re not neglecting the care of your figurines they’ll last for a long time.

2. Amazing aesthetics

Take a look at this picture in Zero Two. It’s gorgeous.

Every element from Zero Two from Darling In The Franxx is recorded. It’s hardly any different from the actual thing from the animated series.

In general, whatever anime character you choose to purchase – be it a Dimoo, it’s sure to be eye-catching and be noticed regardless of where you put them.

3. Top quality materials

It doesn’t matter if you’re speaking about PVC Statues or Nendoroid’s figures. They all use top quality materials. PVC Statues made of the finest.

While Nendoroid isn’t one of the “cheapest” of the three models, they have decent quality in their designs.

This is due to the outstanding manufacturing done by companies such as Good Smile Company.

4. Parts that move easily and have lots of flexibility

In contrast to PVC Statues that are more like ornaments, Nendoroid’s as well as action figures have moveable parts. Each comes with an assortment of body components, accessories that you can swap, and much more.

This is the reason why Figma’s and Nendoroid’s real, as you’re basically bringing your favorite cartoon characters into the real world.

5. A purchase of anime figures will put money back into the business

It may sound obvious, but it’s worth noting.

Each time you buy it is reinvested back into the market.

The process is like this:

The manufacturer makes products.
A distributor (or retailer) buys it.
The retailer sells it to the general public.
Customers purchase the product.
Retailers earn profits.
This money is then used to purchase additional anime figures.
The producer (and distributors) sell more anime characters in response to the market demand.
This cycle goes on.

Between all this, there are anime companies that (that don’t have any connection to manufacturers) also earn a profit.

At the end of the day everyone is a winner. Nobody loses out.

1. Certain anime characters have more brittleness than other characters.

Like other similar products how much you spend will influence this.

Let’s consider the above image as an illustration. It is priced between $900 and $1000plus. This isn’t a typical figure in any way.

The supply of this figure is extremely limited across the world and, more importantly, the dropping of a figure such as that from any level can be harmful.

The characters of anime aren’t as fragile as glass, but it’s something to be noted.

2. It is difficult to repair after damage or a break.

Contrary to laptops or smartphone, you’re not able to take your device towards the maker (or retail store) and hope that your anime character will be fixed.

This isn’t how it works.

If it’s damaged while in transit, the chances are you’ll receive a replacement by default. However, any damage that is self-inflicted can be difficult to repair.

In some instances, you will not be able repair the damage, based on the severity. If you’re not able to reattach the pieces.

It’s an arduous process that’s best avoided altogether!

If you don’t have as much storage space as the picture above (like many) this could become an issue.

As with any type of collecting, you need to be prepared for having to many items to be able to count. Also, you must find the space to keep all your treasures.

This is a matter of how committed you are and whether you’re an occasional collector. This is only an issue dependent on the number of figures you buy.
